Mr Suricate Sponsor of the 16th edition of the JFTL 2024

The 16th edition of the JFTL ( , or French Software Testing Day), the must-attend event in the field of software testing and quality in Europe, will take place on June 11 at the Beffroi de Montrouge, and Mr Suricate proud to be part of it as a sponsor and presenter!

What is the JFTL?

The French Software Testing Day offers an opportunity to bring together software testing specialists to share evolving practices in the testing world through live tutorials.

This is a unique opportunity for testing experts to differentiate themselves and showcase their added value, not only through their solutions but also via innovative approaches and strategic applications.

Members of the CFTL Bureau, the CFTL Technical Committee, and Community experts were responsible for selecting presentations and curating the program for this unmissable educational day!

The program will feature 14 workshops led by various specialists in software testing and quality.

It should be noted that these tutorials are practical workshops, so registrations will be limited.

JFTL Tutorial Mr Suricate Can We Use a Recorder to Automate Tests?

For the Mr Suricate conference, Rodolphe Jacquemin and Xavier Blanc delve into the world of record-and-replay tools, a crucial yet often misunderstood area of software test automation.

We will explore why, despite their promise of ease and efficiency, these tools are not yet fully operational in the current context.

Subheading

1. We will reveal an often-overlooked reality

These tools do not record all actions performed on websites. This shortcoming creates a gap between what is tested and actual usage, raising critical questions about the reliability and completeness of automated testing.

2. We will examine the ability of these tools to replay recorded actions

The challenge here is twofold: not only do some tools struggle to faithfully reproduce complex actions, but they also encounter unforeseen obstacles, such as user interface updates and code changes, which can render tests obsolete.

3. We will emphasize the importance of specific automation expertise

This raises the question of whether the use of these tools is truly accessible to everyone or if it remains the domain of specialists.

Together, better understanding the future of software test automation

This presentation not only highlights current challenges but also initiates a crucial discussion on the future of software test automation.

We will explain the solutions we have implemented to overcome current limitations and outline emerging perspectives!
