2WhatSuriScope Does

SuriScope is a tool designed for web testers and developers. On any page you visit, it allows you to generate CSS and XPath selectors and assess their robustness, temporarily freeze the page to inspect a transient element, and view the contents of the `window.dataLayer` variable as well as the requests sent to the audience measurement tools on that page.

3Nodata is collected

SuriScope does not collect any personal data and does not share any information with MR SURICATE or any third party.

The extension does not include user accounts, authentication, or a server. It does not send any requests to our servers or to third-party servers. It does not include any audience measurement tools, trackers, or telemetry. We have no way of knowing who is using the extension, on which websites, or how often.

Consequently:

  • We do not sell any data, since we do not have any;
  • We do not transfer any data to third parties under any circumstances;
  • We do not use any data for any purpose other than the stated functionality of the extension;
  • We do not use any data to assess creditworthiness or grant financing.

4WhatIs Processed in Your Browser

To function, the extension reads the content of the page you are viewing at the moment you open it or when you launch the selector: HTML structure, element attributes, displayed text, the contents of `window.dataLayer`, and network requests sent to audience measurement services.

This processing takes place entirely within your browser, in memory. Nothing is sent anywhere. Intercepted network requests are stored in the tab's memory—up to the last 500—and are deleted when the tab is closed.

5WhatIs Stored Locally

SuriScope stores data in your browser's local storage, and nowhere else:

  • your display preferences: theme, color, opacity and thickness of highlighting, print format, default layout;
  • a list of your last twenty searches, including the search criteria used and the number of results found;
  • your most recent search criteria in the DataLayer tab, so they'll be there when you reopen it.

This information remains on your device. It is not synced, is not accessible to MR SURICATE or any third party, and you can delete it at any time from the extension's settings or by uninstalling it.

6.Permissions Requested and Their Use

  • Access to data from the websites you visit. Required to analyze the page you are inspecting: read its structure, generate selectors, display highlighting, read the dataLayer, and intercept audience measurement requests. SuriScope is a testing tool designed to work on any web application, so it cannot know in advance the list of websites you are testing. This access is used only on the tab you are inspecting, and no data is shared outside of it.
  • Active tab. Required to identify the tab you are inspecting and display its title and address in the interface.
  • Script injection. Required to insert the selector engine, visual selector, highlighting, and dataLayer reader into the page.
  • Storage. Required to save your preferences and search history on your device.
  • Context menu. Required to add the "Inspect with SuriScope" entry to the right-click menu.
  • Side Panel. Required to enable the side panel display, one of the three available display modes.
  • Keyboard shortcuts. Required for shortcuts to open the extension and launch the selector.
  • Developer Tools. Required for the Inspect feature, which reveals the selected element in the Elements panel of Chrome's Developer Tools.

7Safety

The extension does not load any remote code. The external libraries it uses are included in its package and served from it. Each update is reviewed by the Chrome Web Store before publication.

8Children

SuriScope is a professional tool designed for testers and developers. It is not intended for children and does not collect any data, regardless of the user's age.

9Changesto This Policy

If the extension's functionality changes—particularly if a future version were to handle data differently—this page will be updated before the release of that version, and the date at the top will be updated.
